Who Should Be Evaluated?

Those with a family history of heart disease, meaning one or more immediate family members who have been diagnosed with heart disease or has high blood pressure or cholesterol, diabetes, and have a smoking history to hypertension should schedule an appointment today with Dr. Mohin to learn more about further testing to evaluate your risk for a serious heart or vascular disease.

Many of us are familiar with the symptoms of heart diseases like heart attack. There are other symptoms of heart disease as well to be aware of, including: excessive fatigue, shortness of breath with exertion, severe pressure, pain in the jaw, chest pain that becomes more intense or that isn’t relieved by rest, as well as difficulty swallowing and pain or discomfort that spreads to the shoulders, neck, arms or jaw.

If you have any of the symptoms listed above, you should be evaluated.  Most patients think about seeing a doctor when they don’t feel well but may put it off, or they may wait for an annual physical with their primary care doctor to ask questions about any physical pains or symptoms.  The heart is the most important muscle in your body, so take care of it!
